Easy Street Recumbents

For the eighth year, recumbent riders from all over the country gather for a weekend of fun.  Activities include the Laid-Back Social, Recumbent University, a Charity Raffle Drawing (for which the National Stroke Assn. will be the beneficiary), community rides for every fitness level, and a Texas-style Rodeo with several events which allow riders to test their skills, speed, and lack of good sense!

The Queen B. LiT Ladies Ball is a formal ball celebration of African-American women in the city of Indianpolis. This event is named after Blance "Queen B" Jackson, an Indianpolis native who passed away from a stroke in March 2014.

Holy Spirit Catholic Church

Everybody is invited to attend the Stroke Awareness Class on March 28, 2017 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in our parish.  The class will focus on the risk factors as well as signs and symptoms of stroke.  Attendees will be able to take home educational pamphlets.  The speakers will be Susi Mitchell, Stroke Coordinator for Covenant Medical Center and our own parishioner, Leni Alejo, MSN student at Lubbock Christian University, certified in Neuroscience and Critical Care Nursing and currently working in Covenant Medical Center.  We hope to see you there.

The 2nd Annual Run For Robert 5K Run/Walk honors the late Robert Kovalsky and benefits the National Stroke Association.  My Father, Robert, suffered from the debilitating effects of a stroke.  However, he always considered himself a stroke survivor rather than a victim. Please join us to celebrate his life and raise money for the National Stroke Association.

The purpose of this event is to incorporate dancing/zumba and then luncheon to provide information about stroke. Attendees will take home information regarding blood pressure monitoring, nutrition and fitness.
