This is a community event intended to raise awareness about the resources available to stroke survivors, family members and friends, and other allied professionals in the San Diego area. The event will be held in the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Center on the campus of San Diego State University on Monday, April 27th from 8 AM-1 PM. There will be resource tables available in the exhibition hall (Montezuma Hall) for any community group that wishes to provide information about their services and/or have a representative available to interact with attendees.

Stroke Survivors and their stories are spotlighted during this annual lunch recognition. Lunch is provided for stroke survivors and one guest. This event is presented by Healings in Motion and hosted by Dameron Hospital.

The purpose of this ground breaking event is to reach the expectations of the community and change what matters by providing early detection and preventative health screenings and educational opportunities in an effort to reduce health disparities and improve the health status of minority populations.

This event is open to the public and will include poster presentations and free handouts of stroke types, risk factors, preventative measures, and stroke rehabilitation. The poster presentations will be in the main hallway, outside the cafeteria with a corresponding free community cookout. Staff from our Stroke Response Team will be on hand to answer questions.
