I am ... A Survivor

I was 35 when I had my stroke, with a 10 month old baby at home and a 6 yr. old. when I was hit with a disection of my carotid artery, which happened in my doctors office. then rushed to the hospital.spent 1 week in ICU and another week trying to figure out what happened.once the DRs. figured out the cause. I was moved to a rehab hospital for another 2 weeks. which felt like a lifetime. couldn't walk, had no use of my left side. stroke was massive.just knew I had to be home by my daughters first birthday. finally learned to walk with a cane. and feed and dress myself.then my homecoming, at last!! learned how to diaper my baby one handed. lift her out of her crib. but always Thanking God that I was alive. to take care of my family. with ALOT of love and support of my family and friends I was able to move on.but even so, even after 8 years now I still don't have use of my arm,and walk with a limp. I'm back to work 2 days a week and volunteering at my daughters school.just trying to keep my head up and look at the bright side.I am blessed, so now what am I gonna do about it. continue to hope and pray for healing to enjoy the rest of my life.
