I am ... A Survivor

On April 30 of 2009 I experienced a stroke. My roommate was home and found me and quickly called 911. I am a single mother of two children, Takoda (10) and Malakai (7), My family was amazing. They came and took care of my boys while I was in the ICU at UCLA medical center. I stayed there for approx. 6 weeks and then was transferred to a rehab facility in Pomona, CA where I stayed for an additional 4 weeks. I had to learn to walk again. I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am for my fmaily who was amazing during this time. They kept the normal routine for my boys while I was recovering. I was 36 when this happened. I went back to work in less than a year. The only side effect I have is drop foot on my left leg. I am extremely thankful to be alive!
