I am ... A Survivor

Hi I am Matt and I am 16 years old.  I had a stroke either in utero or when I was an infant.  Living life after a Stroke can be difficult at times but it's all about perserverance.  The stroke weakened my left side leaving me with foot drop and a weak left hand/arm.  In the past I received physical, occupational, and speech therapy.  My thearpists have helped me a lot and I am very grateful for them.  In 10th grade, I started running cross country and although I wasn't the fastest on the team, it gave me confidence.  Now, I am about to enter my senior year of high school and I am nervous yet excited for what is yet to come.  Even though my life has been more challenging than others, it makes me take a step back and realize how fortunate I am to be alive.
