I had my stroke almost one year ago. I had just gone to bed after working 16 hours at the nursing home where I'm the weekend supervisor. Shortly after going to bed my right hand started tingling. I got up and went to the bathroom to get a tissue and I couldn't pick it up with my right hand. I did the stroke test and failed miserably. I called my friend and said I need help. She couldn't understand me. She thought I said I hit a tree. She got me to the ER in the golden hour and they gave my TPA. Luckily my stroke wasn't severe and I've made an almost complete recovery. I still have some weakness in my right leg, with foot drop, but I'm back at work doing what I love as an RN. God blessed me with a wonderful team to help me in my recovery.
