My name is BryAnn, I'm 29 years old and I am a 2x stroke survivor. I had my first stroke at birth, It damaged nearly the entire right half of my brain, resulting in a lifetime disability. The doctors had originally thought that I would never walk, talk,go to school, do anything an average child could do, much less become a fully functional and independent adult. Evidently though, I'm known to be a bit stubborn so after numerous grueling years of therapy, surgeries, and many different hand and foot braces, I'm a proud college graduate as of December 2014. My struggle still continues everyday and in a lot of ways my body and brain are still adapting to the damage that was done, but I have hope for my future. Just remember to take it one day at a time and truely embrace each accomplishment as a celebration, because often the little steps are what lead you to do and accomplish great things.
