I am a therapist in Tennessee that had the fortunate (yes fortunate) experience of having a stroke. Why was it fortunate? It led me to my passion - working with survivors and their families to improve their recovery. I started our local stroke survivor group over 10 years ago and it is not just still going, it's going STRONG. We work together, cry together and learn together. We have a bond that cannot be broken. We see each other for who we really are and encourage each other thrugh the tough times. We also crave to help others that are newly experiencing the effects of a stroke on a family. I am so proud of this group. They have helped me more than I have helped them. (Picture is from our recent art therapy session)
