I am ... A Survivor

My name is Amanda and at 46 years old I began a journey that has created a path that I would have never expected.  I am married and have three children and our first grandson due in May.  On July 6, 2014 I had an acute stroke in the thalimus of my brain.  After several tests it was determined that I had previously had a stroke that had not left side effects.  The second stroke left me with a lot of weakness on my right side, unable to walk and vision problems.  I have completed stroke therapy and can now walk without assistance and use my right arm and hand.  I still have a lot of fatigue.  But I am able to work part time.  I am blessed to be able to enjoy my life.  I have a lot to be thankful for.  I am blessed beyond measure.  Although my path has a new direction, I hope to embrace each new day and focus on getting stronger each day.
