15 year old stroke survivor
I was 15 years old and a sophomore in high school when my Stroke happened. It happened in the middle of the night. I had a horrible migraine all day leading up to this. Horrible to the point were I was shaking and vomiting. I woke up not being able to speak or see correctly. Then I tried to actually get out of bed then realized my body did not want to move. This was such a scary feeling being trapped. My stroke occurred because I was on Birth control and I had a blood clotting disorder that I did not know I had. I had to do extensive amounts of therapy. These tragic experiences made me so thankful and realize how precious life's little moments are. Before I would take little things for granted such as picking up a pen and writing my name. Now I am the total opposite. I like to look at this in a positive aspect then think of it as oh poor me. I am now 21 years old and loving life.
