My name is James, I had a stroke 10 years ago. I was in the hospital for 225 days and nonverbal for 3.5 months. I was sent home in a wheel chair with only the use of my non-dominant arm.
I had a Brain Stem Stroke (Basilar Artery Occlusion) on April 29th, 2014. I was 28 years old. This is my story of what happened.
A Little Background
I have had 2 strokes..the 1st was 2003..I was 34....second ..day after my 47 birthday. .I was so angry. .because I knew what was happening.
As an airline crewmember I traveled 5-6 days a week this week was no different other than the nagging migraine & shoulder /neck pain which I assumed was just exhaustion.
March 8, 2012 was just like any other day. I had school to do with three of my kids who I home school. My oldest was a senior in high school and attended the local public high school.
I am sharing my sister, Melissa's story because she is not able to herself just yet. On Tuesday, April 8th 2014, Melissa was outside of her daughter's lacrosse practice jogging on the track.
